Under the terms and in compliance with the provisions of Portuguese Law No. 144/2015, of September 8th, and its subsequent amendments, our company provides the necessary information so that the consumers can exercise their rights to complain to an official, third and impartial entity that will help them to resolve the dispute in question.
The alternative dispute resolution is the possibility that all consumers have at their disposal to resort to official entities in order to obtain help in the resolution or guidance of any conflict, before filing an action in the courts.
As a rule, the procedure can be described as it follows:
1) The consumers ask an impartial third party to act as an intermediary between them and the supplier or service provider who is the target of their complaint.
2) The intermediary can suggest a solution to the consumers’ complaint, impose a solution on both sides or bring the parties together to find a solution.
Alternative dispute resolution may be translated as “mediation”, “conciliation” or “arbitration”.
Alternative dispute resolution is, on the whole, less expensive, less formal and faster than the judicial procedure.
Thus, in case of a dispute, the consumer can resort to an Alternative Dispute Resolution Entity
